SOLIDstaff.com was brought to fruition in 2010 by William Ireland as a brand new idea in recruitment. As a hotelier himself, running his own hotels in South Devon since 1994, William was frustrated with the problems he consistently experienced when working with the traditional recruitment process. Believing that actions speak louder than words, he decided to do something about it and SOLIDstaff was born a recruitment website where the entire model is based on offering genuine value for money, transparency and ease of use for employees and employers alike.
With an energetic and focused approach, William is responsible for driving SOLIDstaff forward and raising awareness of its unique offering within the hotel and catering industry. Working with William to help develop SOLIDstaff into the best online resource for employees and employers, is Richard Booker and his team at Website Vision Ltd a leading UK based Digital Agency.
With many years of experience creating and delivering results-focused digital marketing strategies for a wide range of companies from start-ups through to well-known brands, Richard is responsible for planning and overseeing a comprehensive online marketing campaign for SOLIDstaff.
Margaret quite literally grew up in the hospitality industry, in her parents' hotel. From being a graduate with Hilton Hotels she moved to London to work with the Hotel and Catering Training Company. From there directly back into the industry as Personnel and Training Manager for Raymond Blanc’s Le Manoir aux Quat’ Saisons and Petit Blanc brasseries. Then setting up the human resources function at Mint Hotels formally known as City Inn. Hungry to see how a large company approached human resources she then joined Waitrose and held a number of positions there including Recruitment Manager.
The success or otherwise of the hospitality business is dictated by the team that works in that business. Getting recruitment right is the corner stone of a successful team. We have a passion to help you achieve this.

The following blog has been written by BHA member William Ireland who as well as running the The Cottage Hotel has set up a brand new catering recruitment company.
“I am the Joint Managing Director of our family owned and run hotel in Hope Cove, South Devon called The Cottage Hotel and for the last 17 years have run it with my sister Sarah. Like most small to medium size catering companies you need diverse skills to run it. From hiring staff, ordering stock, management on all levels and understanding how every department works. Also to succeed in this stimulating and vibrant industry you need a willingness to learn, to have passion, not be scared of hard work and are a team player and most of all are a people’s person who can deliver exceptional customer service.
It is one of the above skills, hiring staff, which can make or break the business. The right people, in the right place at the right time are crucial. One problem I encountered was the difficulty in hiring staff especially in a cost effective way. So the reason for writing this blog is to inform you about a new company that I have formed. The company is called SOLIDstaff.
